Come Meet Me!

Who are you as a person, and why do you love being a therapist?

I am curious, creative, playful, determined, dependable, and compassionate. I value loyalty, kindness, enjoyment, connection, and openness. I have lived and studied in Taiwan, Malaysia, China, UK, Singapore, France, and now the US! I experienced privileges and challenges and gains and losses along the way that uncovered raw spots and blind spots, strengthened awareness and skills, practiced gratitude, challenged my tolerance and self-doubts, explored how I show up for others, and navigated systems that felt like never ending roller coaster rides. Your journey doesn’t have to be lonely and isolating. I strive to provide an introspective home and a base of safety, nurture and belonging from which we engage in your self-discovery, make mistakes, hold grace, and empower the different parts of you. Our time together will feel courageous and vulnerable. Through a holistic, collaborative and affirming approach, it is my goal and passion to help you experience your life with more moments of playfulness, curiosity, mindfulness and intentionality. I am inclusive and welcoming to all identities and stories, and I engage in culturally sensitive and appropriate interventions.

My hobbies includes being on my musical instruments, traveling, spacing out, talking to my two fur babies, swimming, and exploring new waterfalls!

What are your experiences?

I hold an Ed.M. in Mental Health Counseling and an M.A. in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. I am Narcan certified. I have also received credential of Diagnostic Privilege.

I work with adults, couples, and families from all walks of life.

I have extensive experience working in various settings at different capacities, including at a couples research lab, psychiatric inpatient unit, intensive rehabilitation and recovery outpatient program, and a community clinic. In addition to being a Bilingual Psychotherapist, I have held different roles, including Clinical Supervisor, Presenter and Researcher (published on Emotional Pain Mediates the Link Between Preoccupied Attachment and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury in High Suicide Risk Psychiatric Inpatients; and Construal Level and Conflict Resolution in Romantic Relationships), Advocate, and Volunteer. I also collaborated with the Soar Over Hate organization on their “Heal from Hate” Project and was invited as a Guest Speaker at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai to educate about the impact of racial trauma in the recent epidemic in xenophobia on mental and physical health.

Prior to the mental health field journey, I was invested in Political Science and Public Policy. I held roles within United Nations in collaboration with development and leadership programs and non-governmental organizations, to address empowerment and advocacy in various sectors for the underserved and underrepresented population. I was privileged to attend global summits in which various international ambassadors and expertise in their field engaged in inspiring and passionate debates and dialogues. These experiences have helped to provide a more in-depth lens in exploring and navigating nuances of marginalized identities.

I am currently working with a group private practice called Intuitive Healing Psychotherapy Practice as the Director of Internship Program, Clinical Supervisor, and Psychotherapist.

“As her colleague for several years, I can vouch for Eileen’s high level of empathy and astute judgment as a person and as a therapist. She has been instrumental in strengthening the collegial community at the mental health agency we worked at together by creating and leading Group Supervision and has made herself readily available to share resources, her reflections, and her encouragement to her colleagues. Eileen goes above and beyond for her clients; her passion for empowering others is apparent. She is well versed in client advocacy and uses creative methods to elicit client’s growth. Eileen truly listens and hold a great deal of space for clients as they evolve in their healing journey. She is excellent at building relationships with both providers and clients to ensure that clients experience a seamless continuity of care. Eileen is a valuable person in any setting that she is in!”

"I worked with Eileen at Community Counseling and Mediation from 2020-2023 closely in a Peer Group supervision she created and led and through consultation. Eileen is a compassionate and insightful psychotherapist whose dedication to her clients is very transparent. She is knowledgeable in many approaches to therapy and has a high skill set, implementing various interventions and modalities that help her clients reach their therapy goals. I highly recommend Eileen to any mental health agency or practice, but especially to anyone looking for a warm, understanding, and highly skilled clinician."

"Eileen is one of the most caring people I have ever met. She radiates kindness and is the embodiment of hard work. She values and cares for the people she works with, and the clients under her care, and it shows. The time, care, and commitment she provides to her clients and colleagues is unmatched, and goes unnoticed by nobody. She provides a welcoming and open space that makes it easy for anyone to reach out to her if they ever need help with their clients, and when someone does reach out she makes it her priority to ensure they receive all the help they need. It was never a bad day when she was in the office and she is one of the greatest assets any place will have."

- Jorge Calixto, LMHC
